About
Precious Prado is a Filipino-American Meisner-trained actress who currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. Born in the Philippines and raised in Northern California, she grew up in an immigrant household and developed a keen awareness of the people around her, as she observed the cultural differences outside of her home. She found a way to channel this skill of people-watching when she found acting in high school. During her senior year, she played the role of “Aggie Wheeler” in Ken Ludwig’s A Game’s Afoot which earned her an Arty nomination (Solano & Napa Counties) for Best Lead Actress in a High School Comedy/Drama.
During her college years at UC Davis, she auditioned for student written plays and films while pursuing her civil engineering degree. Inspired the by rise of Asian-American representation, she decided to audition outside of her university to see if she could work as a professional actor. On her first audition, she was able to book her first professional acting job as the lead role for the short film Initiation with Futures Explored. Additionally, her earlier credits include award-winning web series Doucheaholics and episodic proof-of-concept First Gen.
After graduating from UC Davis in Civil Engineering, she went on to formally study the craft acting at the Meisner Technique Studio in San Francisco. In a two-year program, she trained directly under Jim Jarrett, who is the last teaching protegé of Sanford Meisner.
After her Meisner training, she continued to work professionally on short films, industrials/commercials, and immersive theatre productions. Her notable credits include playing “Eleven” in Netflix’s immersive event of Stranger Things: The Experience (San Francisco); the sole recurring character “Morgan Gaunte” in Fever’s immersive Halloween production House of Spirits: A Cocktail Soirée (San Francisco); her first union role in Filipino-American short film Avelino (Won Best Short Film & Best Cinematography in Washington Film Awards); and lead role in experimental short film Black Cherry (Nominated Best Lead Actress and Best Cinematography in Meisner Film Festival).
Outside of acting, Precious has experience working in residential structural engineering, solar panel design, and professional liability underwriting for architects/engineering/contracting businesses. Her performance skills include 8+ years of choral singing, sightreading, piano/keyboard, and unarmed stage combat. She also enjoys drawing (pencil, ink, charcoal, oil pastel), thrifting, and spending time with her dog, Maverick.
Lastly, as a late diagnosed ADHD woman, Precious is passionate about neurodiversity and mental health awareness, especially within the context of the first-generation immigrant experience.
Precious is currently represented by Johnson Talent Agency in both San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.
